State Transportation Board member Shaw dies at 67

State Transportation Board member Jay Shaw died Monday of heart disease. Shaw, 67, was elected to the board by state lawmakers from Georgia’s 8th Congressional District in 2010 after serving 16 years in the state House of Representatives. He also spent nine years during the 1980s as mayor of the small city of Lakeland in South Georgia. On the transportation board, Shaw served as chairman from 2012 to 2013.
