Georgia loses Volvo plant to South Carolina

Volvo Cars of North America LLC will put its first U.S. plant in South Carolina, not Georgia. The Swedish automaker said it will invest $500 million to build a factory in Berkeley County, S.C., that will employ 4,000. It said in a statement it picked South Carolina for "its easy access to international ports and infrastructure, a well-trained labor force, attractive investment environment and experience in the high tech manufacturing sector."
