
Pro forma legislation enabling the Savannah Harbor deepening project to move forward is the first bill to make it through the General Assembly this year.
The Georgia House of Representatives Thursday unanimously passed a Senate bill ensuring that the Georgia Ports Authority and any other non-federal partner in the $706 million project would indemnify the federal government for any liability arising from the work. The state Senate approved the legislation last week, also without opposition.
