Liberty Media Corp. has no plans to sell the Atlanta Braves, its CEO told securities analysts Wednesday.
In fact, the potential tax consequences would make selling the club "painful," Liberty CEO Gregory B. Maffei said.
Sports teams have grown in value, including the Braves, Maffei acknowledged, and Braves' management has done a particularly good job to build additional value by renegotiating some of their TV contracts and by building a new stadium in Cobb County.
