Georgia lawmakers to take up sweeping tax overhaul

A bill reducing Georgia's income tax while raising the sales tax was introduced Monday in the state House of Representatives. The most far-reaching tax reform legislation lawmakers have undertaken in three years would drop the state income tax from 6 percent to 4 percent during a three-year period starting in 2016.
