Clarke County School Superintendent Philip Lanoue is the National Superintendent of the Year.
Lanoue learned Thursday he'd won the honor over three finalists, reports Athens Banner-Herald.
The other finalists were from Tampa, Fla., Arlington, Va., and Donaldsville, La.
Lanoue was named Georgia's Superintendent of the Year in December.
He previously was an assistant county school superintendent in Cobb County.
