
A $6 million loan made in 2008 by a Georgia bank that later failed has led to a big court battle between one of Mississippi's largest banks and an Atlanta millionaire.
Renasant Bank, based in Tupelo, Miss. (Nasdaq: RNST), on Feb. 17 sued John F. Smithgall, his wife and son and 19 of Smithgall's companies, saying Smithgall has refused to hand over $4 million that another court ordered him to pay Renasant.
