A new 78-foot air traffic control tower opened Thursday at Cobb County Airport-McCollum Field.
County transportation officials say the $2.9 million tower improves visibility, reduces glare and allows for a better work environment for air traffic controllers, the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
The airport is 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta. The airport serves business and pleasure aircraft.
