The Georgia Senate voted 44-7 Tuesday to renew for three years a tax credit the state offers to video gaming companies that set up shop in Georgia.
Under the Senate’s version of the bill, which originated in the state House of Representatives, gaming companies have to make an upfront investment of at least $500,000 to be eligible for the credit.
The version the House passed earlier this month required the companies to post a Georgia payroll of at least $500,000 a year.

Equifax Inc. promoted Joseph M. "Trey" Loughran to chief marketing officer.
He replaces Paul Springman, who has retired after 24 years with the Atlanta-based company.
Loughran joined Equifax in 2007 and led the acquisition of TALX Corp. (now Workforce Solutions) -- the largest to-date in Equifax history. He also oversaw the company’s entry into Russia and India.

Keurig Green Mountain Inc. added three New Orleans-based Reily Foods Co. brands to its lineup.
Keurig (NASDAQ: GMCR) inked an exclusive multi-year manufacturing and distribution deal for New England brand coffee, New Orleans Famous French Market Since 1890 brand coffee and Luzianne brand iced tea pods for Keurig hot brewing systems in the United States and Canada. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The companies plan to launch the new, licensed K-Cup pods in fall 2015.

A Mercedes stolen from a valet lot at Horseradish Grill in Buckhead on Saturday contained a tracking device that lead police to a Range Rover stolen Thursday from a valet operation outside Midtown restaurant Ecco.
Those cars and two other stolen cars were located in the 200 block of Richardson St. in southwest Atlanta, Atlanta Business Chronicle broadcast partner WXIA-TV is reporting.
It was unclear what type of cars were recovered along with the Mercedes and Range Rover.

Spelman College has named Mary Schmidt Campbell as its 10th president of the Atlanta-based historically-black women’s institution.
Campbell, who will begin her new job on Aug. 1 following the tenure of Beverly Daniel Tatum’s 13 years as Spelman’s president, is the dean emerita of the Tisch School of the Arts and university professor in the Department of Art and Public Policy at New York University.
