Students climbing glaciated mountains or volcanoes is something rarely associated with urban universities, and certainly not with urban universities on the United States eastern seaboard. However, that is exactly what happened for nine Georgia State University (GSU) students this May when they ventured to the Pacific Northwest to climb Mount Baker (10,781 feet) in the North Cascade mountain range in the state of Washington.
