Jet’s Pizza

Jet's Pizza

Until recently I’d never tried Jet’s Pizza, a small chain out of Michigan with some locations around Atlanta. I’d never even heard of them until my brother told me about them, as there is one near his home in Smyrna. They have all kinds of pizza, but the square cut Detroit style is what we’re here to discuss. Specifically, the eight corner pizza with Turbo crust.

Eight corner means they split the pie into two halves so the edges are crispy on every piece. It’s the super greasy style bread that basically fries up in the pan, with the cheese seeping off the edge and getting crunchy and delicious, sort of frico style. The pizza is cooked hard and the pepperonis present excellent cuppage, almost burnt in a perfect way.

I won’t go on and on in detail, but it’s a glorious gut bomb, wrong in all the right ways – she’s a pie that’s fun to ride, but you wouldn’t want your CSA friends to see you on her.

Also, the driver texted me the photo at the bottom here when my pizza was en route. This guy is a marketing genius. Seriously – what a small thing to do to make your business and pizza stand out.
